Official suite of AWS MCP servers exposing AWS docs, services, and best practices to agents.
A suite of official AWS MCP servers (awslabs/mcp) spanning AWS documentation, CDK, Cost Explorer, Bedrock, and many individual AWS services. Each server is open source under Apache-2.0 and typically runs locally over stdio. AWS now also offers the Agent Toolkit for AWS as a successor aimed at production coding-agent workflows, while the original servers continue to work.
Strengths
- Official, first-party AWS servers with broad service and documentation coverage
- Modular — install only the servers you need
- Open source under Apache-2.0
Tradeoffs
- Requires careful IAM credential scoping for agent safety
- Many separate servers means more setup and version management
- Underlying AWS API usage may incur normal AWS charges
