Open-source, OpenTelemetry-based end-to-end observability tool for LLM applications.
Langtrace collects and analyzes traces to help developers improve their LLM apps, with real-time tracing, evaluations, and metrics. Traces follow the OpenTelemetry standard, so data can be exported to existing stacks like Grafana, Datadog, and Honeycomb without a proprietary API. It ships Python and TypeScript SDKs plus a web dashboard covering token/cost usage, accuracy, and performance. A free self-serve tier and cloud plans are available alongside the open-source project.
Strengths
- OpenTelemetry-native traces avoid vendor lock-in
- Open-source SDKs and dashboard, self-hostable
- Python and TypeScript support with framework and vectorDB integrations
- Free tier for individual developers
Tradeoffs
- Smaller ecosystem than larger commercial platforms
- Free tier capped at 5k spans per month
